ProChip Timing System

MYLAPS ProChip

ProChips

All athletes have a ProChip attached to their ankle/wrist strap or bike in order to identify each participant and to record the exact time at which they pass the start, finish and intermediate time lines. Each ProChip sends out a unique signal.

Detection loop

Detection loops are installed in the track at the start and finish line and intermediate time points. The loops work as the system´s antennas and pick up the ProChips signals.

ProChip Portable Decoder

ProChip (Portable) decoder

The detection loop is connected to the decoder. This decodes the received signals into the athletes ID and records (lap) times to the millisecond. The decoder sends this data the timekeerper’s computer. The decoder has a built-in practice mode that allows automated uploads of practice results to mylaps.com, without the need of a timekeeper.
